2009subaruforesterSubaru was the only major automaker to report an increase in U.S. sales in February 2009.  Just a 1% gain over last year – and all due to the sales strength of the new Forester.  It had a 100% increase over 2008.  The Impreza was also redesigned last year, but it’s not doing all that well, it appears.  I didn’t like that Impreza redesign – I was hoping for a coupe or 3-door liftback, and improved fuel economy.  The Forester redesign added lots of nice interior features, but the exterior design is less boxy and the windows seem to be smaller.  It’s a more generic design than you’d expect for the plucky little Subaru.
