If you’re making an online reservation at the Walker River Lodge in Bridgeport, you’ll be surprised when you click “submit”. Instead of getting the expected confirmation page, you get redirected to the site’s home page, with no indication that your reservation was submitted or received. Which will likely generate confusion and a few phone calls to their front desk. So that’s not as good as it might be. They also offer “free wi-fi”, and unless this has changed from last year, you’ll need to elbow your way into cyberspace with this service. I think that a neighboring resident or business knows how to get past the simple access control, and consumes most of their available network capacity. But that’s all part of the fun of visiting Bridgeport for this year’s Mountain Warfare Training Challenge.
